Wind of change for Hello Chose

After 2 years in this large studio space on Crémazie Boulevard, it's time for me to leave this nest and relocate Hello Chose to a new place. Recently, I mentioned on Instagram stories that I was facing an unreasonable rent increase. The reality is that I can't cope with a 35% rent inrease within the Ateliers 3333 project, where we were all supposed to be protected from real estate speculation. When I announced my move from the Grover building to the Ateliers 3333 in April 2022, I never imagined I'd find myself in this somewhat uncomfortable situation two years later. 🙃 Being 100% transparent, Hello Chose is doing well, and I'm doing well. However, I'd be lying if I said the past few months have been smooth sailing. Inflation is hitting us all hard, our consumption habits are changing, but I'm happy to see more and more of us turning to second-hand to decorate our beautiful homes. Last December, when I learned about this rent increase coming on May 1st, I immediately went into problem-solving mode. After considering countless ideas and options, I finally decided on the future of the business and where Hello Chose will be located, yayyyy! Starting May 1st, Hello Chose will become partly nomadic since I won't have a commercial lease to deal with anymore (a financial burden representing tens of thousands of dollars annually). I'll have the immense opportunity and privilege to rely on a fantastic team who will handle all your orders within 24 hours. All my treasures will thus move to Repentigny, from where your online purchases will be dispatched at lightning speed. Collaborating with a team that will manage your orders will allow me to focus on what I love most: THRIFTING! I have plans to unearth crazy vintage treasures abroad in the months and years to come, and this new business structure will finally allow me to do so. 😀 For those who thought Hello Chose was going to disappear, well, it's not, hahaha! This wind of change is super motivating, and I have plenty of ideas to keep growing the business I created all by myself in my room almost 5 years ago. I feel a bit like I'm in Groundhog Day (like in 2022) announcing that the Hello Chose workshop is now in moving mode. My lease ends on April 30th, so the countdown has begun! What I take away from all this is my perseverance, my desire to do better every day, and the happiness I feel when you send me photos of your purchases with a kind note.
